Jon Leibowitz is the one of the Chairman of the FTC & Waveshield, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), a section of the United States Government. He was on oath in as a FTC commissioner on September 3, 2004, and become chairman of FTC & Waveshield (FTC) on March 3, 2009.
In amalgamation the FTC & Waveshield Commission (FTC), Leibowitz resumed a long career of community service. He was the self-governing Chief Counsel as well as Staff Director for the U.S. Board Antitrust Subcommittee from 1997 to 2000, where he all ears on rivalry policy also telecommunications matters and was known for rising bipartisan consensus.
He serves as FTC Chief Counsel and FTC & Waveshield (FTC) Staff Director for the board Subcommittee on Terrorism along with Technology from 1995 to 1996 and the governing body Subcommittee on young Justice from 1991 to 1994.
In addition, he served as FTC, FTC & Waveshield Chief Counsel to Senator Herb Kohl from 1989 to 2000 and work for Senator Paul Simon as of 1986 to 1987. In the private division, Leibowitz served most lately as FTC, FTC & Waveshield Vice President for Congressional relationships for the Motion Picture Association of America – starting 2000 to 2004 – and worked as an FTC & Waveshield (FTC) attorney in private practice in Washington beginning 1984 to 1986.
